Mustang Performing Arts Center
Mustang · Oklahoma
MA+ Architecture was hired in the Fall of 2016 to help with bond planning and design for the new Performing Arts Center located on the Mustang High School Campus. Initial rendered visuals were created to convey the appearance and design prior to the Bond Vote in an effort to bolster the public interest and support for the complete bond package. The approximately 68,000sf facility will house the drama and choir departments and be the primary location for performing arts events for the school district. Two theaters will be included in the facility, the primary 1,500 seat auditorium and the secondary black box style theater. The new venue will feature a scene shop and music library storage area along with a multitude of classrooms, rehearsal spaces and support areas for students and performers alike. Additionally, the Performing Arts Center is designed to host a variety of events in the large entry lobbies, which will also function as a gallery showcasing student artwork, and is supported with a catering kitchen for hosting events for the school as well as public events. Construction of the new Mustang High Performing Arts Center officially kicked off during a groundbreaking ceremony January 18th, 2019.
