Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School

Oklahoma City, OK

Education

Bishop McGuinness, established in the 1950s, is Oklahoma City's premier Catholic high school. However, few improvements have been made to the school over the last 52 years, so MA+ Architecture was chosen to assist McGuinness in updating and expanding their facilities. This $10 million 70,000-square-foot project consisted of a new area plus a total renovation of the retained areas. The addition provided new administration areas, a new library/media center, a new student commons, a new cafeteria/kitchen, and 29 classrooms all on a very restricted site. All of the construction and renovation efforts were performed while keeping the existing buildings fully operational.
