The Bishop McGuinness Basketball Tournament is known throughout the state of Oklahoma as a renowned event. McGuinness wanted to upgrade their facilities to reflect the quality of their athletic programs as well as their academic programs.

MA+ Architecture was hired to renovate and add an 18,000-square-foot addition to upgrade the overall facilities. The project includes total renovation of the existing gymnasium, expansion of seating capacity to 1,200, new practice gym, new wrestling room, new restroom, new lobby, new concessions, new Hall of Fame Room, new weight training facility, new locker rooms and a complete upgrade of life safety. Additionally, extensive site work was designed for additional parking and landscaping.

The project was constructed while keeping the building fully operational and was completed in January of 2008.
