MA+ Architecture designed a 27,700 sq. ft. addition to Carl Albert High School that enhances both safety and functionality, including a two-story, nearly 17,000 sq. ft. storm shelter. Strategically located between existing classroom and band buildings, the addition features seven new classrooms — two designed specifically for Severe/Profound education — along with a drama room, forum classroom for 120 occupants, and expanded administrative areas. This addition also introduces new staff offices, conference rooms, a breakroom, and updated restrooms to support faculty needs. Connecting corridors link the new spaces to the existing campus, improving circulation and accessibility, and site improvements include a new parking lot and a southward drive extension to better accommodate traffic flow.
